The Aga Khan Foundation’s International Scholarship Programme 2025: The Aga Khan Foundation’s International Scholarship Programme (AKF ISP), which will launch its program for the 2025–2026 academic year, is currently accepting applications from interested and suitably qualified candidates who wish to take advantage of this opportunity and complete their academic pursuits.
Outstanding scholars from a few chosen nations who have no other way to pay for their education can pursue postgraduate courses through the AKF ISP. Recipients of awards are chosen through an international, yearly, competitive application procedure.

RULES TO GET AID / ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
To be eligible for The Aga Khan Foundation’s International Scholarship, you must:
- Have excellent academic records:
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training/professional experience;
- Demonstrate genuine financial need;
- Construct a thoughtful, reliable, multi-source funding plan.
- Be admitted to a reputable postgraduate institution; and
- Have strong leadership potential, professional experience, extracurricular and/or entrepreneurial achievements, and volunteer contributions.
Note: preference is given to young professionals under 30 years of age.
Eligible Countries
- The AKF ISP is available in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Egypt, India, Kenya, Kyrgyz Republic, Madagascar, Mozambique, Pakistan, Syria, Tajikistan, Tanzania, and Uganda.
- Applications are accepted from those originally from one of the countries listed in point 1 in Canada, France, Portugal, and the USA.
APPLICATION PROCESS
Local Aga Khan Foundation (AKF), Aga Khan Education Services (AKES), or Aga Khan Education Board (AKEB) departments process applications. To obtain an application form, contact the relevant national organisation (see the contact information below).
For instance, you must apply through the local office in India if you live there, or through the local office in Kenya if you live there. Kindly send your finished application to the organisation that provided the ISP application form. Applications that are not complete or sent late won’t be approved.
