Focus on Antimycotic Resistance with the One Health Approach

The MYCOS research program seeks to foster collaboration between various scientific disciplines to tackle antimycotic resistance, a pressing global health concern. This program provides funding for 11 PhD students over a three-year period.

MYCOS Brings Together Experts for a Comprehensive Approach

The program leverages the combined expertise of researchers at the Innsbruck campus to address intricate issues in areas like infection, immunity, transplantation, and biointeractions.

Research Projects with Real-World Impact

MYCOS offers a range of engaging PhD projects with the potential to significantly impact both scientific research and clinical practice. Project topics include:

  • Examining the environmental and health impact of azole fungicides.
  • Investigating the emergence of azole resistance in fungi across diverse habitats.
  • Exploring innovative treatment options for pathogens resistant to azole-based drugs.

These projects aim to equip graduates with the necessary knowledge and skills for successful careers in medical and natural sciences.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for the MYCOS PhD Scholarships, applicants must possess:

  • A Master’s degree in a relevant field such as natural sciences or medical sciences.
  • Proficiency in English at the C1 level (demonstrated through Cambridge English, TOEFL-IBT, IELTS) or native speaker status.
