About the PNG Bilateral Scholarship Program (TIAS)

The Department of Higher Education, Research, Science, and Technology (DHERST) of PNG in partnership with the Government of Indonesia is inviting applications for the 2025 TIAS intake. Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the PNG Bilateral Scholarship 2025, applicants must:

  • Be a citizen of Papua New Guinea
  • Hold a valid PNG passport (minimum 18 months validity)
  • Be medically and mentally fit (certified by a licensed physician)
  • Provide a police clearance certificate
  • Be unmarried and willing to remain so during the study period
  • Meet age and academic criteria based on the chosen degree level
  • Secure an official nomination letter from DHERST or relevant government agency
  • Have a support letter for English proficiency
  • Have at least 2 years of public service experience (strongly encouraged)
  • Submit verified employment documentation and recommendation letters if employed
